Pierwalker Log: May 30, 2018

Writing start: 10:17 A.M.
Finish: 2:40 P.M.
Total new words (est.): 1300
Edited (est.): 0
Tasks

1. Failure: 400 new words
Notes: Coming to a critical juncture in the story. Should be both exciting and painful to write.

2. Book Three Melody: Off till June 12

3. Watson: Off till June 5

4. Love Story: Off till June 23

5. Ant story: Off till Thursday

6. Dread Pirate Roberts (2): 500 new words
Notes: Still looking for that chapter end.

7. T-Bag: 400 new words
Notes: More researching. Theodore has a great challenge ahead of him. Is he as smart as Michael Scofield, as he has long suspected? We'll find out!

8. Fractalverse: Volume 5: Picked the final 12 fractals to go into the new volume.
Notes: I'll start writing in the volume next Monday!

Extra notes: Hawaii 5-0 had a great season two premier. I'm really glad we took a chance on it. Terry O'Quinn showed up, and that made me really happy as well. He played John Locke on Lost, but for me he looks almost like Malesherbes Quartermane, so that's how I think of him.

Only one task tomorrow, which is to read through the prologue to the Ant Story. The rest of the day is off. I do my best to honor down times, much as that ridiculous Puritan work ethic instilled in me by my parents tells me not to. Time off is critical in writing, or probably any creative process for that matter. The past few months were the most challenging of my entire writing career. I deserve a little time to breathe and rest.

We've been enjoying truly temperate and comfortable days here in southwestern Oregon. It's amazing to still see light in the western sky at 10:20 pm. The summer solstice is always a special time for me. It's only three weeks away! It's true: the older you get, the faster time flies.
