Extra notes: I wrote my Representative and both Senators today regarding the barbaric child separations taking place by the US government at the border to Mexico. If you're an American, you need to do the same as well. Today. Right now. Just stop reading this and go do it. Please. I don't care if you don't finish this. Just go do it.

The postmodern push to excise the word "evil" from the language is, I'm convinced, at least partially responsible for the general malaise I see from the public-at-large over this heinous activity, and over so many other monstrous acts done in our name. "Evil" implies a judgment. A moral judgment. We're all supposed to cower in the face of such things.

White-lighties are at fault too. New Agers have been pushing the meme that there are no such things as good and evil, that we all mean well, that everybody has good intentions (contradicting their notion that "good" doesn't exist), that no one is at fault because we are all determined, that we all need a "judgment de-tox," that the world would be better if we all just held hands and "accepted."

Only it wouldn't. And it won't.

Our refusal to look malevolence in the face and call it what it is is dangerous in the extreme. We have given the language to white-lighties and fundamentalist Christians, who have warped it to their own selfish ends. We have let them cow us into silence. One group denies the existence of evil; the other redefines the word to the point that what is good and what is evil have essentially changed places.

And so here we are: in a state of moral collapse.

The consequences will be catastrophic. We'll be lucky, in fact, to survive them.

Time is running out. Fast.

Get writing.
